Book Review: Highly Illogical Behavior by John Corey Whaley

After reading Noggin, I knew I needed to read the next book by John Corey Whaley.  Noggin was so different and so captivating, I was recommending it to all kinds of readers.  Guess what?  I’ll be doing that again.

Solomon has not left his home in years and that suits him just fine.  Safe in his room he completes his online schooling, plays cards with his (FABULOUS!) grandma and enjoys a quiet life with his family.  Enter Lisa, a psychiatrist want-to-be.  She decides that getting Solomon out of his house will be the key to her college admissions essay.  I must admit, I detested Lisa for much of the book.  I round her self-centered and quite full of herself.  And right there, that’s the thing that makes Whaley a gifted writer.  I can’t stand her and I keep reading.  As Solomon grows Lisa grows and I, the reader, grow .

Well done Mr Whaley.  I’ll be looking forward to your next eye opener.
