This is a book that will stay with the reader long after they’ve finished. The plot builds carefully, allowing the reader to question the idyllic community of Seed at the same rate as the main character, Pearl. I found the premise of this isolated community mostly believable, at least enough to keep me reading. And while it covers some scary/important/horrible issues I felt that the writer chose words, scenes and images carefully – nothing gratuitous or over the top. The ending was a bit too fast.
Definitely high school due to mature subject matter.
