The Zig Zag Girl by Elly Griffths

Fans of Elly Griffiths can rejoice, this book has all the excellent qualities we have come to expect form her work: deeply drawn characters, a true sense of place and a compelling mystery. I generally do not read historical fiction or mystery, but this book may change me views.
The character are based on a group of real people – camouflage experts from World War II. In this outing, someone is killing off the Magic Men in horrible- magic trick related acts of violence. Police Inspector Edgar Stephen is tasked with unraveling the mystery. He calls on Magician Max Mephisto to help him stop the killings before they too fall victim.
