Words and Their Meanings by Kate Bassett

One of the best books I’ve read this summer, Words and Their Meanings connected with this reader on so many levels. The plot was innovative and fresh. I’ve read enough books about sick kids and their brave battles. This book is about the people left behind. Not one character in this book is trustworthy…all of them keep secrets from each other for reasons only they can understand. The characters are equal parts likable and frustrating. The plot unfolds carefully and deliberately, keeping my interest until the very last page.
