Vivian Versus the Apocalypse by Katie Coyle

A breath of fresh (if apocalyptic) air.
No, it’s not dystopia. No, there’s no love triangle. This book is so much more than I thought it would be. Vivian lives in the US, but the US is no longer the free country she was born into. A religious leader predicts a rapture followed by an apocalypse. Society then divides into Believers and Non Believers. When her Believer parents disappear on rapture day along with thousands of others teen-aged Vivian is left to fend for herself. She begins a journey with no clear plan. Along the way she defines for herself what she believes in. The story ended well, leaving the reader wondering but satisfied. I’m actually pleased to see that it is the first in a series.
